Kia Ora whānau!

We are a small whānau-owned pakihi Māori based in Kirikiriroa, Aotearoa.

Our Journey

The Mini Store began from a simple, personal journey — a desire to learn and grow in te reo Māori alongside my tamariki. As a stay-at-home mum of two, I wanted learning to feel natural and playful for all whānau to connect in the everyday moments at home. I struggled to find resources that were both meaningful and accessible, so I began creating products that our own whānau could use to learn, play, and connect together.

Our creations are inspired by the importance of whānau — the belief that learning is strongest when it happens collectively, through shared experiences, storytelling, and play. Each piece is designed to encourage conversations, strengthen identity, and help tamariki see themselves reflected in the toys they grow up with.

Our Kaupapa

Our kaupapa is simple: to create products that are affordable, accessible, and made with aroha, so that more of our whānau can bring te reo Māori, connection, and joyful learning into their homes.

I sincerely hope that our products bring as much joy to your whānau as they have with mine. The journey to revitalisation starts with us.

Ngā mihi,
The Mini Store Whānau
